Master nativity scene maker Miguel Vargas Rojas, renowned for his exquisite skill in combining tradition and modernity, presents a magnificent, new biblical nativity scene again this year. With 40 cm figures, some of the most classic scenes are the Annunciation to the Shepherds and the Bethlehem stable, radiating hope and love. On the left, the village of Bethlehem reflects daily life, while in the background, the procession of the Three Wise Men fills the route with hope and joy. On the far right, we can see the mystical moment of the Incarnation of the Virgin Mary and then Herod in his castle ordering the Massacre of the Innocents. This representation invites us to reflect on children’s suffering throughout history, evoking the importance of protecting the most vulnerable and the desire to work towards a future of peace and justice.

These three nativity scenes are works of art made with stick figures, unique pieces carved and hand-painted by some of the best nativity scene artisans. Among the scenes depicted are key moments of the Nativity, such as Joseph’s Dream, the Annunciation to Mary, the Visitation to Elizabeth, the Registration, and, of course, the Birth of Jesus. The Three Kings Cavalcade and a handicraft market, representing more than a year’s work, complete this captivating ensemble. With this representation, El Corte Inglés invites locals and visitors to experience the spirit of Christmas in a setting full of beauty, tradition and joy for the birth of the Son of God, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere for all.
