Santa Claus arrives in Madrid to paint Christmas white. Eñe Festival
Literature. Workshops and Storytelling
When the Dutch settlers arrived in New York (then New Amsterdam) they brought their traditions with them, and one of them was Saint Nicholas (Sinterklass), a symbol of their Christmas celebrations. This is how Santa Claus, as we all know him, was born and it just goes to show that Christmas is also a two-way journey, a compendium of traditions and cultures that embrace each other. This is the spirit that imbues these events, in which we invite you to discover the United States, our guest country, whose literature is the mainstay of the programme. There will be puppet workshops, and also poetry and even rap, tales from the indigenous peoples of America and stories in English, pictorial actions and performing arts.
