Nativity Scenes from Around the World. BASANTA-MARTÍN COLLECTION
A display in Madrid of a representative sample of one of the world’s largest private nativity scene collections. It was begun in 1977 by the couple Antonio Basanta and María de los Ángeles Martín. Today, they continue adding new acquisitions to its over 4,200 nativity scenes and 30,000 figures from 154 countries.

Neapolitan Nativity Scene

Saturdays 4:30 to 7 pm. Sundays, 11 am to 2 pm.
Closed 25 December and 1 January.
A Neapolitan nativity scene created and built entirely by 90-year-old Pilar Tobar González. She paints and dresses the figures in period costumes and builds and assembles all the buildings following established traditions and conventions. This nativity scene has been awarded the Gold Medal of the Association of Nativity Scene Makers and other awards and honourable mentions for many years.
