Popular and traditional nativity scene set up by the Madrid Association of Nativity Scene Makers.
The figures of the Olot School highly valued not only for their contribution to the scenography, adding realism and beauty to each scene, but also for their high level of artistic quality and craftsmanship. At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, thanks primarily to the company El Arte Cristiano, the Olot School gave rise to an innovative industry by introducing a new material, wood pulp, and a new modelling technique that significantly improve the way figures were made. The figures are handcrafted works of great beauty, obtained from moulds of images made by illustrious sculptors from the Olot School.
A unique and exclusive nativity scene, for which the Association of Nativity Scene Makers of Madrid has reproduced an emblematic medieval gate, transforming the scenography into a valuable representation of an era. This is possible thanks to the collection of figures and constructions that the Association has accumulated over its 78-year history, which allows us to create our recreations without ever repeating the same scenes.
