Clara Montes con la Banda Sinfónica Municipal de Madrid

Clara Montes, born in Madrid and with roots in Andalusia, is one of the most compelling voices in Spanish music. Since her debut in 1998, her dedicated and uncompromising career has brought her to sing in the most important theatres and share the stage with the greatest artists.

Musically trained with a solid grounding in flamenco thanks to the influence of her father, Clara studied sol-fa and harmony in various schools in Madrid, including the School of Creative Music, and took guitar lessons in Buenos Aires with teachers such as Ramón Montoya and renowned composer and guitarist Andrés Batista. With more than ten albums to her name, Clara Montes has consolidated her career as a singer and songwriter, and is noted for her sensitivity and versatility. Her debut album, in which she set twelve poems by Antonio Gala to music, was recognised with a Music Award. Her abiding interest in exploring both the roots of flamenco and new styles has marked her career as an innovative and creative artist. She has also contributed to soundtracks for film and theatre, and was awarded the Premio Latino de Oro in Music and Poetry.

Her performance with the Municipal Symphony Band of Madrid on Twelfth Night is an opportunity to enjoy classic Spanish melodies, her own songs and, in general, music that is eternal. An unmissable event, and all for a good purpose - all proceeds will go to the Pequeño Deseo children’s foundation.
