ACCESSIBILITY

Christmas Programme will be a forum for celebration, culture and re-encounter in which all of Madrid’s residents can take part. In view of this, Madrid City Council has reaffirmed its commitment to accessibility and social inclusiveness with a broad set of measures designed with special care and a focus on ensuring inclusiveness, quality and safety to create an experience that can be enjoyed by everyone who attends the different offerings organised by the city during the festival.

The first step in designing content that can be enjoyed by all is to make it available to all citizens. With the aim of removing any communication barriers and enabling the public to enjoy the activities, each event is described with icons that provide information on the accessibility measures in place. These icons can be used to filter the events based on the individual accessibility requirements of each person. Activity schedules, information on the venues’ physical accessibility, prices and available discounts as well as special accessibility conditions can also be viewed when reading the description of each activity.

RESERVATIONS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

For events requiring pick-up of audio description devices, assisted listening devices or haptic backpacks, we recommend that you arrive at the designated collection point at least 30 minutes before the event. They will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis until full capacity is reached.

To ensure that all people can take part in activities as safely as possible, specific seats have been set aside to guarantee better locations and improved access for persons with disabilities, depending on how much assistance they require. These seats may be requested by writing to the email address [email protected],  in person at the physical ticket offices that have been set up, or by calling the audience assistance line on (+34) 91 318 47 00 from Tuesday to Sunday between from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Upon entering the venue, staff will require ticket holders to show a disability card or equivalent document that provides proof of disability.

VIDEO INTERPRETING SERVICE

Veranos de la Villa also provides a video interpreting service that enables people with hearing impairments to receive assistance with acquiring their tickets from sign language interpreters, who act as intermediaries in the process. People who require sign language video interpreting can gain access to it at the following link, between the phone assistance hours specified above:
